Reviews
Fortune Cookies is filled with short stories that are set in Asia and Australia. It discovers the lives of different people and can bring tears, smiles and even a bit of anger. Fortune Cookies explores topics such as fitting into a new place, searching for your family, living with love, and even remembering those long gone.
The short story Dancing on the Carpet was my favourite because it is about crossing cultures, stereotypes and love. There is a strong sense of living up to the family name and living to your heart. Miki had to decide which path her heart would follow. Her father, whom she loved - or Joe, a simple and plain guy living in Australia, who loved her more than the world.
I strongly recommend Fortune Cookies because it shows a variety of writing and is therefore a book for everyone.
